GOD is under an oath to bless you!

The word ‘Blessing’ often gets thrown around lightly among Christians, losing its true depth. However, when God used the term ‘Blessings’, it was accompanied by a solemn oath. In Hebrews 6:13, it’s stated, ‘For when God made a promise to Abraham because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself’. You might wonder, ‘What was the content of this promise made to Abraham?’ Hebrews 6:14 reveals, ‘Saying, surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee’.

You might ask, ‘How does this promise to Abraham relate to me?’ Well, Galatians 3:16 clarifies that the promise was made to Abraham’s seed, which is Christ. And in verse 29 of Galatians 3, it emphasizes that if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and an heir according to the promise. This realization is truly a cause for celebration!

Here’s the impact: When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you automatically become part of Abraham’s lineage, making you an inheritor of the ‘Blessing’. This places you in a privileged position. Even if the devil tries to deceive you by questioning the apparent lack of blessings despite your acceptance of Jesus, remember Hebrews 6:15: ‘And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise’.

Activate your patience by trusting in God’s promises in His written word. Stand firm in whatever areas of your life you are expecting His blessings. Proverbs 23:18 assures, ‘For surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut off’. God’s oath secures His promise to bless you, as stated in Hebrews 6:17: ‘Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath’. Rejoice, for Jesus is Lord forever!
